Death Valley and the Eastern Sierra

Imagine photographing the sand dunes of Death Vally at sunrise, then the Alabama Hills and the snow-covered mountain peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains at sunset! This workshop will take you to some of the best landscape locations in the West, from sea level to views of Mt. Whitney - the tallest mountain in the continental US. This area was made famous by the photographers Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell and others. Death Valley feels vast and primeval, and the Eastern Sierras reflect “Wild West” history. Many famous Western films were made here, and the road through the Alabama Hills winds past these locations. The locations include Furnace Creek, Stovepipe Wells, Mesquite Dunes, Alabama Hills, Manzanar and others.
